The NTPF is a corporate body with functions and responsibilities as set out under Statutory Instrument 179 - National Treatment Purchase Fund (Establishment) Order, 2004 and the Nursing Homes Support Scheme Act (2009).
Changes to the role of the NTPF occurred in July 2011. The change in role reflects another stage in the implementation of the Government's health reform agenda and follow on from the establishment of the Special Delivery Unit.
