About the NTPF

The NTPF is an independent public body, undertaking diverse roles within the Irish Health Care System. These include Contract Management with Nursing Homes, Commissioning of consultations and treatments for patients, assisting hospitals in the standardisation of waiting list management by providing protocols and undertaking audits, validation of waiting lists through direct correspondence with patients, and publication of waiting list data on a monthly basis.

Board members and information

Members of the Board are appointed by the Minister for Health in accordance with Statutory Instrument 179/2004 – National Treatment Purchase Fund Establishment Order 2004. The Board is made up of nine members, one of whom is appointed Chairperson by the Minister.
