How The NTPF Helps You

Commissioning

The NTPF’s Commissioning Team works with hospitals to help patients access healthcare as quickly as possible. We do this by sourcing capacity in the public and private healthcare systems. These treatments are arranged in 20 private hospitals and 39 public hospitals throughout the island of Ireland.

Patient treatments are arranged in conjunction with a patient’s public hospital. The Commissioning Team sources capacity for Outpatient consultations, and Inpatient and Day Case procedures, including Endoscopy procedures.

Find out how to respond if you receive an offer of consultation or treatment from the NTPF.

Publication of National Waiting List Reports

The NTPF is the statutory body responsible for publishing National Waiting List Reports. They are published on the second Friday of every month.

The reports are compiled from data received from each public hospital in Ireland. The NTPF gathers this data every week, checks it for adherence to our protocols and dataset definitions and stores it in our internal databases.

Every month, the data is published by the NTPF on our interactive dashboard and on downloadable Open-Data files.

Nursing Homes – Fair Deal Scheme

The NTPF is the designated body to agree maximum prices with private and voluntary nursing homes for the purpose of the Nursing Homes Support Scheme (NHSS).

You can apply for financial support to help pay for the cost of care in a nursing home through the Fair Deal scheme. The Scheme is managed by the Health Service Executive (HSE). For more information, visit: About the Fair Deal scheme – HSE.ie
